Curriculum

We offer a complete comprehensive academic program with special emphasis on the fundamental skills of reading, math and language arts, but we don’t stop there. Students also study science, social studies, art, music, Bible and P.E.  Christian values are integrated in the classroom and on the playground.   Our curriculum consists of the following:

Language Arts: Our students receive a well-rounded education in language arts which includes Reading, Phonics, Vocabulary, Grammar, Spelling, Handwriting, Creative Writing, and Public Speaking.

Math: Students learn to master their math facts, study math theory, and apply math skills in word problems using the Saxon Math Curriculum. Middle school students study pre-algebra and algebra I.

Science: From learning about the five senses and doing simple experiments in Kindergarten through the study of energy, habitats, ecosystems, weather and the body in the upper grades, our students learn about life, physical and earth science.

Social Studies: Throughout the years, our students take classes in U.S. Geography, California History, U.S. History and World History.

Bible: The Old and New Testament are taught including application of Biblical principles to our lives and memorization of scripture verses. The entire student body participates in a weekly chapel.

Physical Education: Students have P.E. twice weekly with emphasis on individual fitness and skills and team sports.

Music: Through the use of songs and games, the younger students learn about rhythm, melody, dance and performance. The upper grades also study West African drumming.

Art: Students learn about color, shape, and perspective through the use of various media including pastels, chalk, charcoal, and watercolor.

Computers: Students in 1st through 8th grades learn keyboarding and are taught both how to use computers and how to use computers to learn.

In addition we offer:
